Easy afternoon at wonderful Whyte Lake

Visiting Whyte Lake is one of the easiest ways to find serenity in Vancouver. This gentle six kilometre return trail can be extended to join the Baden Powell hike or completed in under two hours. There are plenty of temperate rain forest pockets to explore during the hike. The lake itself has a circular loop around it which helps you avoid other people who tend to conglomerate at the boardwalk to swim or sit in the sun.

Start at the trailhead which is an simple twenty minute drive from downtown. Very achievable after work and below the snowline for much of the year. Free parking just off the Trans Canada Highway. More information here.
